charger

I have read reviews of the 15 minute charger which were on the whole positive although 15 minutes was pushing it in most cases. I have not used this device so cannot give personal experience, although over the last 18 months I have been using rechargeable batteries in the form of NiMH ans Mah at 1800, 2100, 2450 and 2700. Initially the charge time is a few hours and the usage was more than charging time, however over a short period the charging became longer and the usage deteriorated and it became more of a chore to keep the batteries recharged. I have switched back to alkaline batteries for my model GPS.

Got me to thinking, are there any GPSr that use Li-ion batteries? Given my usage on my digital camera at a low Mah the Li-ion battery seems to last an age.

Pretty much any NiMH batteries will do. The higher the capacity the longer they'll last. I use 2800mAH ones. I got a £6.99 charger from 7dayshop which will do two/four AA's in a couple of hours - comes with a car adaptor too! Set of 4 AA batts is about £5.

the regular Ni-Mh ones aren't a patch on these and they're only £6.99 for 4 at the moment.

Sanyo eneloops come pre-charged and actually hold charge.

I'm looking to invest in some of these if only because my Wii handsets keep draining regular rechargeables batteries when we're not using them.
