+Jay8714
I recently found a log on one of my cache pages that was dated before the cache was actually hidden. The mistake is easily made around New Years. The log on my page was for 1/3/2008, when it should have been 1/3/2009. Maybe you could put some sort of pop-up warning on the logging page if a cacher accidently enters a date that is earlier than the "cache hidden" date? Link to comment
+Cache O'Plenty
Doesn't the date field default to the current date when you go to log your visit? I know you can manually change it to whatever date you want so you can enter the correct date when logging late. Your idea about an alert prior to the hidden date makes sense. Link to comment

For example, think about this, you log a cache for 12/31/2008, then right after that you log one for 1/3/2009, for some reason it seems to be easy to forget to change the year. I see this every year. I think a better warning would be if your trying to log something more than 1 month old. If it were based on published or hidden date, it wouldn't provide warning if your logging a cache thats more than a year old. Link to comment

I'm about 4 months behind right now. I don't want a stupid warning every time I enter a log It ain't broke, IMO, but if you really need a warning, make it at one year Link to comment
+Prime Suspect
Use the Log Maximizer script, and it will alert you when the log date does not match your PCs date. Click the calendar icon, and it automatically set the log date to your PCs date (handy for those in time zones far away from Groundspeaks). The script also adds forum-like editing controls, and allows you to resize the entry box to make the most of your screen real estate. Link to comment
