+luckybobb
I am trying to load POIs to a data card and it doesn't seem to be working. I use GSAK to create a .CSV ( with over 300 POIs) file and export it to the desktop I run POI loader and point it to the desktop and everything goes well until I get the message saying that I have uploaded 7 ( not the 300 in GSAK). I thought it was picking up another file I didn't see so I tried creating a new folder. I run GSAK and put the .csv file in the new folder and run poi loader and it tells me that the new folder doesn't contain any files. I have used both of these programs be fore and never had any problems. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions???? Thanks for the help p.s. I have tried with version 2.4.1 and 2.5.2 of POI loader Quote Link to comment
+IBcrashen
first make sure its not working. Open a word program and then open the csv file and make sure it has all "300" waypoints. Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
A couple of things that I would recommend. 1. Export the data from GSAK as a GPX instead of CSV. You will get much more information in the file that way. POI Loader will load both file types. 2. Create a folder on the desktop (or some other location) and place the file in that folder. Then point POI Loader to this folder when you run it. Quote Link to comment
+splashy
Make a folder Garmin on a SD The poiloader will search for the device and find the Sd\Garmin, make this the destiny. 300 poi's should be ready in a twink, look for the new made Poi folder in Sd\Garmin Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Putting the files on the SD card isn't recommended if the files are GPX file format. Quote Link to comment
+luckybobb
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried exporting an GPX file and it worked. For some reason I thought I was using CSV before. Why shouldn't they be put on an SD card???? and what other option is there?? Quote Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
When you run POI Loader, you should put them on the SD card. However, you shouldn't store the GPX files on the SD card. You should keep them on the computer as you are doing. If you put the GPX file on the card, some units will read the GPX file automatically into the Waypoints/Favorites. Quote Link to comment
