+BVnLJ Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 A cacher found and took one of our geojelly coins today and is trying to log it, but when he goes to retrieve the coin the system is telling him it doesn't exist. Anyone have any ideas on how I should fix this, should I grab it and then tell him to try and grab it from me? The coin is in California and if I do this will it mess up the record on the coin? I'm clueless here and suggestions would be appreciated Thanks LJ Quote
+Droo Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 They could be misreading the tracking number... ask to verify they are using the right one. If what you get back is close enough give them the right one. If it's totally off they're scamming you so call the Geek Squad and have them whipped with wet noodles. Quote
+River Cacher Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Try and see if you can discover it and if you can't there is some type of issue and if you can it seems like he is typing something in wrong. If you discover it will not mess up the tracking. Quote
+The Klever Boys Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 It sounds like the coin isn't activated...is this the first person to find this coin? Did you activate the coin before placing it in a cache? or did you place an unactivated one in there for someone to find?...in which case they will need to activate it themselves. Just a thought... I think this is a good start those tracking numbers are tiny on the rim of the coin. Quote
