+booshtukka
It would be great if I could tick a load of caches and send them all to my Garmin in one go. Does this functionality exist? If not, it would be an excellent addition. Link to comment
+PDOP's
As a premium member you can use Pocket Queries to have files of up to 500 caches each emailed to you. +BlueDeuce
Once you have a PQ you can upload them with either GSAK or EasyGPS. Personally, since I have Garmin maps I load the PQ into GSAK and then export them (crtl-u) to the Garmin software to do the upload. Link to comment
+booshtukka
I have a Mac :/ I already have a premium account. There is no way to do this from the site then? Shame! Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Just set up Pocket Queries and have them emailed to you. Then you can use Mac Caching to manage them and send them to the GPS unit. http://www.maccaching.com/ There's no way to send multiple caches to a GPS unit directly from the Geocaching.com site. However, you can try this. Download the Garmin Communicator Plugin for Mac http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3739 Then go here. http://www8.garmin.com/outdoor/geocaching/ Log in to (or create) your my.garmin.com site. The geocaching link is under myExtras if you don't get to it from the Garmin geocaching page. Then you can enter your zip code or city and download twenty caches at a time directly to the GPS unit. +Corey
MacCaching, GSAK and the like really just use GPSBabel (free) to send waypoints to your GPS. You could try that. Link to comment
+teadams
MacCaching, GSAK and the like really just use GPSBabel (free) to send waypoints to your GPS. You could try that. Today I've tried both MacCaching and GPSBabel, but neither seem to like my Mac. As soon as I try to transfer anything, my Garmin icon disappears from my desktop and I get an error message that I've disconnected it improperly. MacCache doesn't seem to support Tiger (10.5) and doesn't have the Nuvi in it's list of support products so I wasn't surprised it didn't work. GPSBabel does seem to support Tiger, so I will have to play around with it a bit more. Tim Link to comment
+Corey
To transfer waypoints, you don't want to have your GPS in Mass Storage Mode. Unless it's a Colorado or Oregon, in which case you can just put the GPX files directly into the Garmin/GPX folder. You might also try transferring with Garmin's RoadTrip (the Mac version of Mapsource). Edited September 29, 2008 by Corey Link to comment
