Abandoned Hwy near Big Bear... good for a cache series?

I am thinking that would make a FANTASTIC cache series!

Here's the inspiration.

 

I am not in California, but if some SoCal cacher makes a cache destination outta this old highway, I'm gonna HAVE to make a goal out of it!

 

(Edit: one nearby cache to there is GCP843, for easy searching)

The cache description for GCP843 indicates most of the surrounding area is private property.

In any event, most of the cachers in northern southern-California use the Socal geocachers website.

The Socal 4x4 Geocachers have lots of caches up there in the mountains. I'll ask a couple of our members and see if anybody is familiar with the old road. I think the road might be gated at one or both ends. Might make for a decent hike down, but I wouldn't want to hike up the hill.
