+Pokaroo
Every once in awhile my Colorado freezes on boot up. The only way to free it is to remove the batteries. I have City Navigator in SD Slot and about 10 panes of Topo loaded from Ibiscus (free stuff). Anybody else have this problem or know a solution? Quote Link to comment

Not too frequently, but I also have an SD card with City Navigator (no topos tho), and the solution I use, like you, is to take one or both batteries out for a little while - 10 or 15 seconds and try it again. I do not know if this is a known issue with Garmin or not. Quote Link to comment
+Cacheoholic
Do you have 2.6 firmware installed? If not, that could be it. It could also be the SD card or a map file on the SD card. Will it lock up if you remove the SD card? Quote Link to comment
+twolpert
This problem was reported with one or both of the 2.51 and 2.54 betas. I believe it has also been reported with 2.60, but much less frequently. If the problem is persistent, you may get better results by removing the SD card while you connect, powering the unit up before you try to connect, and/or allowing it acquire lock before trying to connect. Some combination of those workarounds was reported to greatly reduce the problem with earlier firmware versions. Quote Link to comment
