+msrubble
I have found a mark but am unsure whether to report its condition as good or poor, because the type of marker is not specified. The mark in question is 94 5, QP0404. Most other marks in this series are chiseled crosses. But one mark in the series, 94 2, QP0389, might be similar to the one I found. Marker type for 94 2 is also not specified, but the description says it is a brass plug set in the "corner" of a culvert. 94 5 is described as set in the "corner" of a bridge. There is no circular indentation around 94 5. If it was a disk or a chiseled cross, it is poor. If it is a brass plug, should it have the center marked? There are photos with my log. +m&h
Our guess is that the mark could be reported as good. It's a vertical control mark, according to the information right below the coordinates on the NGS sheet, so the chances are against its ever having needed a punch mark. Quote Link to comment
