+GPS & DJS
Hello, I'm pretty new at caching, so pardon what may be a dumb question. I found this object in a cache that I assume is a old GeoCoin. The cache didn't list any trackables at the time I found it. This is a Poker Chip with a sticker on it that says: Barefoot First Cache Find August 23, 2003 GCGAFC When I enter the tracking number I get an error page on the Geocoin website. What does that mean? Is it not a real Geocoin? Never Activated? It appears to be pretty old so I wanted to get it back on the map and moving again, but I'm not sure what to do at this point. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+zoesbrother
Sorry to say but that ain't no geocoin. GCGAFC is an actual cache that has since been archived since 2004. Quote Link to comment
+GPS & DJS
Ahhhh ... that explains it. And "Barefoot" logged this on that cache: "August 25, 2003 by Barefoot (3037 found) My first find! Took a prayer pin and left a fire department patch. Thanks!" I guess he made this to mark his first find. Thanks for the help. Edited April 11, 2008 by GPS & DJS Quote Link to comment
+The-Wolf-Pack
I would say this is a Signature item...and when he found the cache he put the waypoint on the item...if I'm not mistaken you can keep it? Signature items can range from a poker chip to a bussiness card type that are made by cachers to put into caches to say they found it.... Quote Link to comment
+GPS & DJS
It actually wasn't in the cache "GCGAFC" which is in Conn., it was in a cache in Ocala, Florida, which according to the log has never been visited by Barefoot. Wierd. Quote Link to comment

Wierd. It just means someone used it as a trade item and it was moved along in spite of not having a tracking #. Quote Link to comment
