+wv-yen
I, too would like to know why it is not possible to log travelers thgrough Earthcaches. A couple weeks ago I picked up a "7th anniversary of Geocaching Coin" who's goal it was to go to places where people take anniversary trips. The next week I was scheduled to work in upstate NY and thought that Niagra Falls would be the perfect place to start this coin out. Although I had a couple back-up caches planned to actually drop the coin into, because of time and weather I could not get to them. I posted a note and pictures but could not actually log the coin (or my personal TB) into the Bridal Veil falls Earthcache. I was very dissappointed. Why is this set this way and what can be done to change it? Thanks for "workin' on it". Quote Link to comment
+Eartha
You cannot log a TB through an earthcache, because there is no physical container at an earthcache. You can however post photos, log a note, write a story, something to make it interesting on the earthcache page, or take photos at the earthcache to post on the TB page. These are all things TB owners would really like to see. If you do a cache nearby, log it through that, that's close enough on the miles. Quote Link to comment

Hi Eartha, I was hoping you would jump in. I have one question (or ponder), Why can a TB be dropped in a Virtual Cache (there is no container)? How can this be changed (drops into earthcaches)? +Eartha
I wasn't there for the decision making, but I think it's because earthcaches are independent of the geocaching review process. They go through a completely different reveiw process, you can read all about it here at www.earthcache.org They are all reviewed by the GSA, and when they say "Leave No Trace", I guess they mean it.
