jweathers@wakebgc.org
I work at the Boys & Girls Club and we had 6 Garmin Edge 205 units donated to us, can we use these for caching? I can't figure out how if they are cache-able. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
If you can input a waypoint and tell the GPS to "GoTo" that you are good to go. I'm not familiar with that GPS but the odds of Magellan not having such basic functionality is almost nil. Quote Link to comment
+W7WT
This is a Garmin 205 Personal trainer GPS. Just looking at the ads, it sure looks like you can get waypoints on it and navigate to them. I hope you also got some manuals to go with them. Quote Link to comment
+casey97
In case you did not get manuals for them here it is: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/967_OwnersManual.pdf and here is the quick start guide: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/968_QuickStartGuide.pdf I hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
theblackspot
they're made for joggers and cyclists but they're good enough for caching. there is no basemap and you're not able to upload a map on one but other than that they're ok. just figure out how to load waypoints of caches on them and they should lead you in the right direction. +GeoSchnoodle
I use a really old Garmin 12 that does not have maps. I load my waypoints and off I go! I use the maps on geocaching.com to find the streets I need before I go. I use GSAK to narrow my caches and then use my pocket pc to view the pages out in the field. Think of it as "old school" :-) Quote Link to comment
