how to read other lats and longs other then garmins

so i want to volunteer for water sample month on the AT and i have the L+L s from their website but how do i convert them to garmin language? here is what they are showing.

Set your GPS as follows before you enter the coordinates into the waypoints

 

Main Menu => Setup => Units => Position Format => hddd.dddd°

 

Main Menu => Setup => Units => Map Datum => NAD27 CONUS ( someone else should verify this)

Hi there, Use Hdd.dddd format.

 

I stuck a few co'ords into google earth and they placed me into the antarctic..... As I figured you wouldnt be travelling there for a river cleanup I looked again and reversed the co'ords and place the latitude first and longitude second.
