+eklenken
I will be going to the Riviera Maya in October. I was wondering how I can find some caches in the area? Is there a zip code I can type in? Some one please help me. Also I am debating whether or not to bring my GPSr because I don't want it lost or stolen. I have a Garmin 60CSX and love it, so I don't want to buy another because of the price. Any suggestions on whether or not to take it? thanks Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
No zip codes there, so you will need to use co-ordinates to base your searches on. I am not a world traveler, but since your destination is a popular tourist destination, you probably won't have any problems bringing your unit with you. By the same token, there will likely be a multitude of skilled pick-pockets who would be more than happy to relieve you of anything of value. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
Here's a list of nearby caches. I would definitely bring my GPSr. Take the same precautions to protect it that you will use for your camera. Quote Link to comment
+9Key
That area got raked over pretty thoroughly by a hurricane recently so I doubt the caches are still in place. Be prepared for DNFs. Quote Link to comment

Several of the local caches show finds since Dean. Perhaps any caches that were lost have already been archived. Quote Link to comment
+LDove
We have geocached three times in Mexico. There are a few in Cancun also, one a virtual so I am sure that one is still there. There are also a few on Cozumel which is close to PDC - you just get on the ferry, be sure to check out this one GCTGGQ a very popular cache and fun to find too. Once you click on that cache, just go to "find all nearby caches" on the cache page and you will see everything that is close. Have fun! Edited September 24, 2007 by lonesumdove Quote Link to comment
