+Fab7
I have placed a cache which at one time contained travel bugs left by other geocachers. Since then the travel bugs have gone missing ... yet they are still listed on the cache inventory. How do I remove the missing travel bugs from the cache inventory? Quote Link to comment
+Crow T Robot
If you are the cache owner, and logged in, go to the TB listing. You will see an option on that page to mark it as missing. It would be courteous to inform the TB owner of your action, in case they look at the TB page and wonder where the heck it went to. Many TBs marked as missing in this manner will get logged later as "grabbed from somwhere else" instead of "retrieved from ...". Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Go to each of missing trackables' pages and select the "Mark Item Missing" option from the menu at the top right corner of the page. Click "yes" to confirm when prompted, and the trackable is then whisked away to an "unknown location." This feature was added in late 2003 so that bug owners, cache owners and site admins/volunteers could remove a trackable item from a cache page, without affecting its mileage. Quote Link to comment
+rdaines
Ahh, if only more cache owners would keep up on their cache's inventories life would be sweet. The few times that it has happen to me the information (while sometimes sad) was appreciated. Quote Link to comment
