+gnbrotz
I know it's possible to 'fool' my unit into accepting more than the 250 point limit for tracks by naming the track "ActiveLogxxx", but I need to find a program that I can use to actually do this. The Topografix products (EasyGPS, ExpertGPS, GeoBuddy) don't support this 'trick' and I have a corrupt registry entry in my Mapsource directory that won't let me run the program, so that's out too. Any other options out there, preferably free? Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
Can't you correct the corrupt Registry entry for Mapsource? In this thread, there is some discussion about editing the Registry. I couldn't function without my Mapsource maps . . . Quote Link to comment
+gnbrotz
Nope. It's Windows issue that would require a complete wipe and re-install. Windows won't let me edit or delete the keys even though I have admin privileges. Normally, it's not a big deal. I loaded my maps at a friends house and since I have a big SD card, I don't really have to ever swap them out. Quote Link to comment
+gnbrotz
Well....looks like GPSBabel will do this pretty easily. The only part I had trouble with was mimicking the exact name that the internal memory would accept. It has to be "ACTIVE LOG"...all caps, with a space between the words. Other variations won't work.
