+Johnmelad
A cache has been permanently archived in one of my dogs favorite spots for a run. I would like to put a cache close to the one archived, is this allowable? We are talking about 100 yards or so. Quote Link to comment

Deceangi
Once a cache has been Archived the location is freed up for a new cache, provided that it meets the guidelines. If a cache is Temporarily Disabled then it is considered to be still active, so the proximity guideline still applies. Quote Link to comment
+Team_CSG
When a cache is archived, the area is opened up to anyone who wishes to hide a cache. Hide away!! Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Why was it archived? Is it an area that the cache was often muggled? If so is it really a good place for a cache? Otherwise go for it, place a cache! Quote Link to comment
Lactodorum
As all the others have said, it's absolutely fine. Don't forget to recycle any "Geolitter" that might have been left behind from the old cache - Box, Logbook, goodies etc. Quote Link to comment
