+keewee
i'll keep this short. was going to post in gettin started but im a newbie so was i right? can u revisit a cache just because there a geo coin in it? (or a tb?) whats the difference between a geocoin n a tb? ,can u keep them? sorry for wastin time is this seams simple Getting started was probably the right place to post, but never mind... You can definately revisit a cache, but instead of using "Found It" you just use "Write a Note" to note in the cache's online logs that you've revisited. A Geocoin is a coin like item - it can be almost any shape in outline, but they are usually flat (give or take). That said some of them have one heck of a lot of relief to them!!! A Travel Bug us any item with a Travel Bug tag attached. The Travel Bug tag may also be a generic geocoin rather than a TB tag. The Travel Bug it's self could be a non-trackable coin, a toy, a keyring, your first born... (well maybe not),... the sky is the limit, almost. Can you keep them - NO. If they are listed in the Inventory for a cache then they are a traveler - they have a mission to travel from cache to cache. Occasionally people will leave an unactivated geocoin in a cache as a trade item (it will not show on the cache inventory). These could be trackable or non-trackable. If you find one of these in a cache then you are free to keep it - provided you follow the cache traading rule of "Trade even or trade up" - in other words you should ensure whatever you trade into the cache for that swag/trade geocoin is as good as, or better than what you are removing from the cache. Hope this all helps. Enjoy caching! Quote Link to comment
+Droo
Yes you can visit a cache more than once. No, you cannot keep travellers for more than 2 weeks, they belong to someone and are meant to be logged in and out as they move from cache to cache. Quote Link to comment
SEXYGEOER
Newbie too! Welcome! Travel bug is the coin that someone owns and places in a cache to travel to a specfic place. cannot take that to keep, but a geocoin is trackable if acitvated and can be taken (i think 2 keep).Or a micro geocoin can be taken. +Rattlingcrew
If you find an unactivated coin, consider it swag you can keep. If you find an activated coin, it should be placed within two weeks, except those that state in the description that you may keep them if you please. Moun10Bike and AJAYHAWKFAN both come to mind. They both own all of their coins and do not mind you keeping them, just be sure to post your lucky find if you get one of theirs. They are a lot of fun to move around and you still get the icon in your profile for doing so. There is a big debate over this topic. The majority of us feel that coins placed with a goal of moving are considered stolen if kept. Glen Quote Link to comment
