GeoPhysiker
Zur Info: Meine Firmware: 3.3 und Sirf-Version: 2.9 Edited July 3, 2007 by GeoPhysiker Quote Link to comment
+Hynr
Hallo, With my new "GPSmap 60CSx" the WAAS/EGNOS-function does not work. I compared it with an earlier unit. It works without problems in the older unit, but not with the new one. Does anyone have any additional information? My Firmware: 3.3 and Sirf-Version: 2.9 I have not had any problems, but I generally don't bother with WAAS on mine as it does not help much on this unit. Still I can turn this feature on and off without any trouble. What is your unit doing that suggests to you that WAAS is not working when you enable it? Quote Link to comment

I initially thought this was the problem also, but on my 60CSx I can have "Battery Saver" selected and WAAS does enable. Quote Link to comment
GeoPhysiker
Edited July 4, 2007 by GeoPhysiker Quote Link to comment
+apersson850
Since this is still mainly a forum in English, I'll respond in English. Newer units probably aniticipate that the SBAS service should be in operational mode, or they'll not use it. Since Egnos for many years was running in test mode, this demand was often lifted in older receivers, or they wouldn't bother to try using Egnos at all. Now your newer model sees the Egnos satellites, but probably finds the "Don't use for navigation" status bit being set, and thus discards them quickly again. After a while, it will make a new attempt, get the same result, discard the satellite again and so on. Quote Link to comment
