outdoorsaddix
I had this idea of placing a cache arround Queen's Park in Toronto to commemorate the Marijuana March of Toronto in 2007, maybe like a nano in a small dime bag (unused no drugs of course). A themed title and an explanation of the fight for legalization. I simply dont know if this would be accepted by the caching community. I have the feeling that it wouldn't be, I probably wouldn't even place it but I'm just curious what the community would think? Quote Link to comment
cacster
Great idea! Caching with a political message. Quote Link to comment
Cache-tech
This would be addressed by the solicitation guideline due to having an agenda http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#solicit and while I am sure the contents will most likely only be a logbook, the cache contents guideline is still a guideline here for the theme http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#contents Please keep geocaching a family friendly hobby, I would not accept a cache with this theme for listing. +Renegade Knight
A cache that highlights a historical event near where the event was held isn't so much an agenda as it is histroical and more than fair. The dime bags would put it over the top. IT's enough to highlight the history in the cache description. However your reviewer has spoken. Quote Link to comment
Keith Watson
I would lose the dime bag, but see no problem accounting an historical event. Keep to the facts. Anyone that has a problem with history would be pushing their own agenda in my opinion. Quote Link to comment
geoSquid
Please keep geocaching a family friendly hobby, I would not accept a cache with this theme for listing. What if you're in Ross Rebagliati's family? <ducking> Quote Link to comment
Cache-tech
I have no problem with History, but May3rd - May9th of this month is kind of recent and a current political issue more then a historical event. Quote Link to comment
outdoorsaddix
Thanks it was along the lines of what I was thinking, I wont place it, I may however place a micro in the area and mention the event. I think that would be fine. Quote Link to comment
