+Gadget_Cacher
I recently got a garmin 60csx and i wannted to know if you can get an extended warranty for it. I looked on the garmin website, but could not find anything. I know that magellan offers this so i would hop garmin does too. Thanks, Quote Link to comment

+david.travis
No extended warranty that I am aware of for Garmin units. I have a 60CSx and have not found an extended warranty. However, doesn't Garmin offer a flat rate fee for repairs of their GPS's? Here is the link to the out of warranty page: http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html Edited April 15, 2007 by dg8200 Quote Link to comment
Turbobuick86
I came across this 3rd party extended warranty while shopping for a GPS. I know nothing of this company and am not recommending them. Personally, I don't purchase extended warranties, but this is pretty inexpensive. I would Google them and search of the BBB for complaints before considering any purchase. Many 3rd party warranty companies fold before you can file a claim. This one states it's been around forever.... http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Year-Extended-Warran...VQQcmdZViewItem Quote Link to comment

Both repair prices are exorbitant. Quote Link to comment
+Trucker Lee
Per PC Magazine, and several other sources, the extended warrenty on a product is most likely not worth it. First, it replaces, not extends the normal warrenty, therefore you are paying for coverage twice for the normal period. Second, if the product is shoddy, it usually will not make it past the normal warrenty period. After that time, problems are usually associated to product age, providing an excuse not to honor the warrenty. Also, after the initial warrenty is expired, the product has usually depreciated also. Details of warranty: Most manufacturer-limited warranties leave you with no protection against the rising cost of repairs after the first year of ownership. The RepairMaster Extended Service Plan from Warrantech can extend your coverage for four additional years after the conclusion of the manufacturer's warranty. http://www.gpsonsale.com/ExtendedWarranty.htm Quote Link to comment
