dna1990
I searched abit but could nto find a conclusive answer. Is the carry orientation on either of these unit important to signal reception? For example, my Legend C works OK when held out flat, but usually pretty poor when kept vertical such as on a belt holster. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
There used to be a lot of discussion on this topic when it came to the prior generation GPSs. They will work better in certain orientations than others but they get so much better receptoin that I'm not sure it matters anywhere near as much as it once did. Sorry but I don't know what the best orientation is. Edited March 20, 2007 by Renegade Knight Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Yes, vertically (so the antenna is vertical). It make a reasonable imact on reception. Quote Link to comment
+EraSeek
Patch antennas , such as your Legend, should be held flat (horizontal) Quad helix, such as your 60 or 76, should be held verticle. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
From what I've experienced, the unit works better held vertically, but the reception is fine held horizontally. Its not nearly as sensitive to position as my old 60CS or eTrex. Quote Link to comment
