+hidnseek
Is it possible to do bearing in mils on the explorist? if so how do I chose that option. Quote Link to comment
+hidnseek
A lot of caches around here involve doing prjections in true mils, but this GPS seems to be missing the mils option my sportrak color has, is there a fix for this? is it just the 500? I can not imagine them missing this. Quote Link to comment

One of my caches uses mils in its triangulation, but is still doable by converting to degrees. Quote Link to comment
+Jhwk
You can always do the math: Soviet mils are 6000 to a circle. US are 6400. These are Artillery mils used for artillery work and apply to how the Russian and US artillery estimated range and gave corrections for Artillery fire. If you do the math with these numbers you find that the US Artillery mil (6400) equates to one degree equaling 17.777 mils. blech or use the 'right about here' method, 1 degree = ~18 mils Quote Link to comment
