+Team Maccabee
I'm going to Lopez Island next week and want to do a bit of caching (as my kids let me...). What are your favorites on Lopez Island and San Juan Island, which I'll be visiting. I won't be able to do a lot of caches, but I want to do the best ones. Thanks! Team Maccabee Quote Link to comment
+Half-Canadian
Wow, it's hard to narrow down favourites in those two places... Lopez, I think my #1 is GCK4GB Shipwrecked! The kids will love it and it's a fascinating spot. #2 would be GCN6WH Watmough My Love, a beautiful little bay and beach at the south end of the island. Also, the Lopez Island History series are all quick and fun, but give you a great tour of the island. I haven't done many on San Juan Island, but GCG6C5 Mausoleum would be one not to miss. +WeightMan
I will try to check back in later with some good caches on San Juan, but while on San Juan do not miss American Camp and English Camp for an interesting history of the only war the US ever fought where the only casualty was a pig. That was the extent of casualties on both sides. Since both are under NPS there are no caches there, but they are definitely worth the visit. Quote Link to comment
+hydnsek
Thanks for starting this thread; I'm hoping to go to Lopez in the near future myself. When I was on San Juan a few months ago, my favorites were: Mausoleum A Quarry with a View Left Coast View - Oh Canada! Friday Friday Quote Link to comment
