2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
Thank you Dave! We now have a face to go with the name. They did a good job with the clip. To bad they didn't let you show more of the other items in that display, they sure look intriguing. Shirley & John Quote Link to comment

Wintertime
"Treasures of NOAA's Ark"....cute. I've long admired NOAA's name, there normally not being a lot of humor in the federal government... Anyway, the video with Dave can now be found here: http://www.myfoxdc.com/myfox/MyFox/pages/s...mp;locale=EN-US There are also a couple of other news segments about the 200th anniversary exhibit. Anyone here (besides Dave ) been to the exhibit yet? Patty Quote Link to comment
ArtMan
I got a chance to see the exhibit this week. If you're in the DC area it's well worth it — just a block from the Silver Spring Metro. If not, NOAA has a fine 200th anniversary website. Details of the "Treasures of NOAA's Ark," including hours and directions, are online as part of the agency's role in the Preserve America initiative. I'll have a bit more to say about the reason for my visit in a later post.... -ArtMan- Quote Link to comment
ArtMan
And here's another story about NOAA's 200th. I wish I could have posted the full interview with Dave Doyle, who seemed to have as much fun talking about the old surveying artifacts as I had hearing about them. -ArtMan- Quote Link to comment
