kstate Posted November 20, 2006 Share Posted November 20, 2006 Recharged the batteries for Etrex Legend. When I went to turn the unit on the startup screen was blurry. Now I have an intermittent problem where the screen will go goofy and then come back to normal. I do recall dropping this not to long ago but I have used it since then and it worked fine. Could this be a battery issue or has the unit gone bad. If it has gone bad I am not a happy camper because I have not used it that many times for it to go bad. Quote Link to comment

It's possible that there is a loose ribbon connector inside the casing...are you seeing lines on the screen? If this is the problem it can be repaired. If your gps is still under warranty, check with garmin. Otherwise, I have a file here with the steps to repairing it (if this is the problem). +macroderma Posted November 20, 2006 Share Posted November 20, 2006 Before ypu take it apart I had a similar problem Some how I had turned down the contrast on the unit - and the screen started misbehaving much like yours . Once I turned it up again (setup/display) the problem went away - somethimes it is something simple. Quote Link to comment
