One TRIGO Black Nickel Geocoin - Special Charity Auction

Hello again folks,

On behalf of the members of TRIGO, our geocaching community is pleased to once again offer a very special geocoin up for auction to benefit a local cacher's children.

Just over a year ago, Sherri McGibbon (aka pennstategirl) was killed in a tragic car accident. She is survived by her husband and two children, who have since recovered from their injuries and I'm told are doing well again. A very special cache was soon placed in Sherri's honor, as the local geocaching community got together to support the family. A few of us decided to make a special limited version of the 2005 PA Geocoin to try to generate some money to donate to a (then) newly established education fund for the McGibbon children. I'm proud to say that auction did extremely well, but more importantly, brought together a group of strangers that became friends in the spirit of the season.

The McGibbons are not far from our thoughts here in South Western PA, so with the recent release of our TRIGO coins, we decided to once again make a special limited version of our coin to keep supporting a worthy cause. That being said, we're not looking for any major amount. Ten dollars, a hundred dollars, whatever this coin is deemed to be worth will certainly help. It's really about the notion of having the ability to do something positive with something as simple as a geocoin.

Only TEN Black Nickel "TRIGLO" coins were made, and this auction is for the only one that will ever be made available to the public. Nine of these coins were given to local members as a special "thank you" for their leadership and support in the local geocaching community. These coins will never be minted again.

The "TRIGLO" is trackable on GC.com, and carries this icon: trigoicon32r.gif

Thanks to the geocoin community for your past and future support.

Sincerely,

Yime and the folks at TRIGO (Three Rivers Informal Geocaching Organization)
