Going to france with my 60csx

I just got a Garmin 60 CSX and am going on vacation to France next month. I would like to get maps of France but the only package I see is the europe package for about $300, not sure this is really worth it for one trip and I do not need the other cities. Is that what I need first off? and are there any other options?

These are the only two Garmin products that I can see. There are some magellan products that I know of but thats all I know. I've provided you some links to a location that has a lot of GPS software. You might find something. Have a good trip.

It all depends on what type of maps you are going for.

Hi

 

I was in France in June. Took my 60csx along and used it with the really good French Cartography Service maps - their maps show the same grid as is you can select from the unit and are in French, Engish and German.

 

I am sure most people forget that a GPS is just another tool that can, and should, be used with a paper map.

What is the difference between the city navigoter and the metorguide? Will both have auto routing? Garmin's site is unclear here.

When installed on the PC, both support autorouting there.

But when transferred to the GPS, only City Navigator support autorouting. Metroguide is intended for units like the old eTrex Vista, which can't do autorouting at all, but can display detailed maps.

Metroguide does not route on the GPS only on the computer.
