+ronbo
Go to any cache. Click the link, "log your visit."That will take you to a page with a url such as http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?ID=89885 If you know the numeric ID of the MOC cache you want to log, just change the number at the end of the url. If you don't know the numeric ID, change the "ID=" to "WP=" and replace the number with the GC code so you get: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?WP=GCGTAE From there just log as usual. How do you get the ID #? How do you get the GC#? Quote Link to comment
+Blucruz
I cache with my (Non Premium Member) daughters and we usually don't find out it was a MOC until we're sitting back at the computer logging our finds. I have always allowed them to log them and don't see the problem with it. If the cache owner wants to delete their post because they are not premium members then so be it. They haven't had that happen yet so I can't see it beign a big deal. If it does happen I'm not going to lose sleep over it, and I doubt my Daughters will complain either. Since we usually always cache together I couldn't justify paying the $30/year twice. Quote Link to comment

But you can get the GC# by opening the page of a nearby cache and requesting a list of nearby caches. that's all you need. Edited September 10, 2006 by edscott Quote Link to comment

I am a Premium member I got it because I do want to support the hobbie and also because I love the software tool it gives you My problem is this, sometimes I cache with pepole who for what ever reason don't have a membership. we will go to an area to cache and then when I get home I find that some of the caches were MOC. What I want to know is there a way in PQ's that I can filter out the MOC's, and just get a return on non-MOC caches. Or is there a way I can easily see the type of cache ie: moc or not. can someone help me on this. There are just sometimes when I don't want to do any MOC on a hunt. and we have a lot of them here. +Are_we_there_yet?
I have a hypothetical situation for all of those that think this is cheating or that the logs should be removed. Let's say someone that has never heard of geocaching before finds the MO cache. They open it and read the log book as well as the standard invite card that is included inside most cache containers. They decide it sounds fun and so they sign the logbook. They then go home to register at geocaching.com and try to log their find. They naturally will have a problem as it is a MO cache, so they contact a moderator and ask for assistance. They are given the "back door" to log the find and do so as they were invited to do. Are they cheating??? Should their logs be removed??? If anyone thinks that either answer should be yes then I suggest a new write-up for the invite card placed inside MO caches. Maybe something like.....If you found this by accident and would like to join us, visit geocaching.com. However, if you don't plan on paying the $3.00 per month for a premium membership then please don't bother to sign this log as this cache is only for premium members. Nothing like rolling out the red carpet just to pull the rug out from under them! Just a thought. Quote Link to comment
+Sommers
If i find a members only cache WHILE a premium member then let my membership lapse, will it be erased? Quote Link to comment
Neos2
If i find a members only cache WHILE a premium member then let my membership lapse, will it be erased? No, it will remain. You will always be able to see your log, but you will no longer be able to see the other logs on that cache or the cache page, unless you become a member again. Quote Link to comment
