+Sloflyer
I recently purchased an Etrex Legend. Works great, but the manual inputting of waypoints is fustrating. Several posts suggest the ease of downloading these numbers. Can anybody supply "step by step" instructions or direct me to "downloading for dummies"???? Quote Link to comment
MouseFart
Ditto here on Sloflyers post. I bought the same GPS a couple of weeks ago and have not ventured to try this. Would also love the step by step process. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
Have you guys downloaded EasyGPS, or other waypoint-managing software like GSAK? GC Links to software I'm a bit rusty on the non-Premium way to do this, but here goes. Do a zip code search from the home page. Now, check the boxes on the right hand side of the page for the caches you are interested in, or click "Check All" and then click on the "Download Waypoints" button. Now, save that .loc file in a folder on your hard drive like MyStuff/Geocaching/Waypoints. In EasyGPS, navigate to that location and open that .loc file. Set up EasyGPS for your GPSr and send those waypoints to it. You can also download the individual .loc files from each cache page. I'm sure if I've messed this up somewhere, someone will come along and let me know . . . Edited May 27, 2006 by Miragee Quote Link to comment
