GratefulGeos
I am from berks county pa and don't have plans for Sunday and Monday. I was thinking about taking the family on an adventure outside of berks county, but not sure where to go. I would like to go somewhere where there is cool stuff to see and good pockets of caches. Where would you go??? Quote Link to comment
koikeeper
Head over to Allentown... The Caching Nuts have quite a few caches put out and they take you to some nice places. And for a real challenge, try some Fren-Z caches Quote Link to comment
briansnat
A little late, but for your next trip consider the section of Sparta WMA in NJ. The remains of the old Thos. Edison iron works are there, making for some interesting sightseeing. One of the caches, Edison's Dark Rock is one of NJ's must do caches. Quote Link to comment
Natureboy44
Ditto on being a little late. Another future option is High Bridge NJ where there are about 12-15 nearby caches including 9 along a 2.5 mile stretch (5 mile RT) of the Columbia trial which passes through the Ken Lockwood Gorge. This is a beautiful hike or bike. Here's a link to the cache on one end of the trail: High Bridge Quote Link to comment
edscott
Lots of areas to hit from this area. I like the area around Mt Gretna along the Lancaster Lebanon county line in a couple SLG holdings and the Governor Dick natural area. There are around 20 caches along that ridge and all are in woodlands and not a lamp post among them. Another nice area is Fair Hill Maryland. Again around 20 caches, but it has more open fields and of course the sun and ticks this time of year. There is also a parking fee for Maryland State Parks. There is a cluster in a SGL near Gov. Pinchot State Park in York Co that looks very nteresting, but I have no personal experience there yet. I know this is all too late for the weekend you mentioned, but there is lot's of summer ahead.
