Microsoft Streets And Trip ?

Recommended Posts

I got my new 76 Cx today and I was hoping that Streets and Trip 2006 would recognize the USB connection, but it does not. Is there a way to make the program recognize the USB GPS?

I have a power/data cable on the way, but then would have to use a serial/USB adapter in order to get it to connect to the laptop. Would this change anything? I have not yet used the serial/USB adapter that I have so I'm not sure if the drivers will force the laptop to look at the USB as a COM port or not change anything about the way it looks at it.

Any ideas, input or suggestions?

Try software package called GPSgate. It creates a virtual comm port that allows S&T to recognize GPSr. I think it is free to try.

Check and see if there's any updates for S&T that'll support the Garmin unit. If not, and it's not to late, return S&T and get Delorme Street Atlas, which DOES support the Garmin USB units. (And, is a better product overall, in my opinion.)
