Notify Owner If Tb Is Marked Missing

I'm sure it's been requested before, but I'll ask anyway: if a cache owner marks a TB as missing, moving it to "unknown location", could you send the TB owner a notification?

Easier than that - it should create a log. That would date stamp it, indicate WHO marked it as missing, require them to post a note, and notify the owner.

Yep, that's even better.

 

The few times I've marked bugs in our caches as missing, I've always posted a note on the bug page saying that's what I'm doing. But usually when other people have marked our bugs as missing, it's been done in Stealth Mode, and I only notice it weeks or months later. I like your proposed solution.

I like this. Recently I sent a couple of TB's into oblivion and it would be handy if the owner got notice.

 

I'd also like TB finders to be able to send a notice using a log to the owner and/or reviewer like Eartha so they know it's missing and can act accordingly.

Site volunteers don't presently have oversight responsibility over travel bugs. We can move a missing one off of a cache page (we do have oversight of cache pages). But sending notices to site volunteers of trackables being sent to an unknown location is not something that I think the volunteers would need or want to see.

What about a white jeep TB, there is one missing from a cache in our area how do we get rid of the icon?

Only the cache owner can do that. They can mark the bug as missing.
