TheFiveT's
I'd like to suggest that a Pocket Query be able to send you the cache descriptions in PDF in addition to Mobipocket/PRC. This shouldn't be hard to implement since generating PDF's is already part of the site functionality. While the Mobipocket tool is very nice, I don't really need it since most PDA's (including mine ) these days can handle PDF's. Further, the format and content of the PDF's from the cache pages is better and easier to read. Thoughts? Link to comment
StarBrand
If you have a Pocket PC type - simply load the GPX file from the PQ onto your device an then use GPXSonar (free from resource page) to read the file - looks very similar to the online pages. Link to comment
TheAprilFools
And if your PDA is a Palm you can use CacheMate. Its shareware but only 8$, and in terms of caching, it changed my life. Link to comment
TheFiveT's
Unfortunately, I'm using a smartphone. I'd like to avoid carrying a 3rd device. GPS Sonar doesn't run on smartphone, does it? Link to comment
StarBrand
Unfortunately, I'm using a smartphone. I'd like to avoid carrying a 3rd device. GPS Sonar doesn't run on smartphone, does it? If it runs Pocket PC version 2002 or 2003 it should. Which smartphone do you have? Link to comment

StarBrand
Cingular 2125. It runs Windows Mobile 5. I can't say 100% for sure but from everything I've read - it should work like charm on your device! Link to comment

TheFiveT's
Nope. Doesn't work on a smartphone. So, back to the original theory. Can we get PDF added to the formats for a PQ? Thanks, Ken Link to comment
darus67
You can get there in a round about way. GPSBabel can convert from gpx to HTML and there are numerous ways to convert HTML to PDF. Link to comment
TheFiveT's
Wouldn't it be heck of alot easier to just have the PQ send in PDF? Link to comment
StarBrand
from the GPXsonar web site: Title: WM 2005 Users - Please read this! It appears that the installer of GpxSonar has a problem on Windows Mobile 2005: the \Config folder under the \GpxSonar folder doesn't get created. Application sometimes will not install. As a result, configuration changes and field notes aren't saved as they should be. The workaround for this is simply to manually create the \Config folder under the \GpxSonar folder. The next version of GpxSonar will fix this issue. Link to comment
TheFiveT's
I never get this far. I get an immediate message indicating that the software isn't written for the device type. This is typical. I don't believe I have seen software yet that doesn't have a special version for smartphone. No touchscreen and different buttons. Link to comment
