DFRAG
Does anyone know where to get software to convert Microsoft (stt or est) map files and Garmin (gdb or mps) files to jpeg or pdf files so as to edit and share? Thanks for all! Rich rich280@verizon.net Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
I'm not sure this answers your question adequately, but I just use the Print Screen button on my keyboard to copy the map to the clipboard. Then I open my photo editing software, Corel PhotoPaint, and Paste the image. I crop it and save it to .jpg format. Then I can upload it to the cache page or use in a blog entry, or include it in a Forum post. I think you can use Paint or the free Irfanview program to do the same thing. Quote Link to comment
DFRAG
Thank you Miragee! Figures it was soooo easy (for a change.) How do you like the eTrex Vista Cx? I just got same one and ordered additional memory. Ciao Quote Link to comment

If you want to generate PDF, I use a free software package called CutePDF Writer (www.cutepdf.com). This creates a virtual "printer" on your PC that you can print to which prompts you for the name of a file create and then outputs your "print" as a PDF file. jloyva
Another free (ad sponsored) program for creating pdf files is Pdf995, it works superbly and the file size is surprisingly small. Edited April 7, 2006 by jloyva Quote Link to comment
