  1. Thanks for the idea. It sounds a little labor intensive and time consuming. I love USAPhotoMaps - just hit the F key and it downloads the maps and it has a very accurate Route function. I guess I was hoping it could somehow be used with Google.
  2. I guess I should have been more specific. When I said "color not available" I was referring to the 'Color Urban Area Photos' under View>Map Type. I'm guessing I'm just out of luck unless Doug Cox adds Google Maps to his program. Thanks for the quick response.
  3. I've been using USA Photo Maps to download the black and white images for my area (color not available) so I can trace running routes. These maps are from 1991 and lots of things that now exist are obviously not there. As well as many roads that have been rerouted. Is there an alternative that would download Google Maps color satellite images which are much more current (and pretty)? Thanks in advance for any information. Jim
  4. I don't have personal experience with these, but they are made by Garmin for the eTrex series. Garmin Bike & Motorcycle Mounting Bracket (eTrex Series) http://www.tigergps.com/garbikmotmou.html Accessories for the Vista at the bottom http://www.gpsnow.com/gmetvs.htm
  5. From Tiger GPS "NOTE: The Garmin eTrex Vista C has been discontinued. It is replaced by the eTrex Vista Cx (click here), with expandable memory. You can also check out our Handheld GPS Units page for more options." As well as the same message for the Legend C. And from GPSNow "GARMIN has discontinued this unit. Consider the newer Vista Cx that ships with more memory and has the ability to accept even larger microSD memory cards." However, there is nothing on either web site about the 60C series being discontinued.
  6. I would say you have nothing to worry about. If it came to a warranty issue and Garmin no longer had any Vista C units in stock, judging by what I've read about their customer service my bet is that they would replace it with a Vista Cx.
  7. Another free (ad sponsored) program for creating pdf files is Pdf995, it works superbly and the file size is surprisingly small.
  8. Garmin's web site http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynav.jsp says U.S. List Price of $139.27, although you can get it at many online retailers for about $120. Does anyone know of a cheaper price?
