Experimenting With A Palm Iiie

Recommended Posts

A buddy of mine was disposing of one of these, so I inherited it. I plugged it in last night to attempt to transfer some query results. I downloaded the appropriate software, and then I downloaded Plucker. I'm not sure what happened next, but I was able to transfer some of my query results to the Palm, but it seems to be in HTML code. I really have to weed through the garbled mess to find anything. There are NO images, especially the maps, which I wanted more than the text. If you have some experience with this stuff, I'd appreciate any tips. Thanks!

You could try using spinner and plucker. However I think thats mostly intended to give you the text.

If you looking for street maps on your palm I think you need to find a program set up for exactly that. Is there one called mapopolis?? (sorry I don't use any palm maps myself)

The Plucker web site has some information on its FAQ pages that should answer your questions. You may need to install some special tools in addition to Plucker for this to work on this older Palm model.

Yeah, I'm in agreement with Miragee. Go with Cachemate and you can't really lose. Be aware that Cachemate comes with its own converter, so you might not need any other add-ons. Look in the file that you load to your PC for 'cmconvert.exe'; that's the app that does the conversion for you.

Perhaps you can google on: paperless caching palm

then you find a lot of good explanations how to work with palm paperless.

I am working with Pocket Queries, GSAK, Cachemate, Spoiler sync,Plucker, TomTom, Autorute. In GSAK is it possible to work with macro's to automate the job.

The cachemate ideas were perfect. I downloaded and registered the software, then added GSAK and you guys were right - it has been exactly what I needed. I'm still learning, but this forum has helped me greatly. Thanks again! -
