+Rick618
I have received an Etrex Legend, it came from Target that has a carrying case and no cables. Seems like its about $179. A sporting goods store, Dick's has a bundle that includes the E-Trex® Legend, a PC data cable and power cable, a training video, a carrying case, a vehicle mount, and MapSource® US TOPO software package software. All this for $229 and there is a $30 mir, so it drops to $199. Seems to me that its a better deal to go with the bundle if nothing else it comes with the data cables. <link removed by moderator> Are there better deals out there or is that a good bang for the buck?? +DaDawg
Amazon.com has the Etrex Legend for $139.00 and Topo USA for $79.99, so that would make your $199.00 (after rebate) a better deal if you want the software. If you are just interested in the unit, then Amazon may be your best bet. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
The Legend should come with a data cable. If it didn't, the package must have been opened and the cable taken. If you do nothing else, I would go back to Target and get a complete package. The $199 package at Dick's seems like a pretty good deal. US Topo software typically costs $80 or $90 on line, but can be found for less. Quote Link to comment
+Team_LPD
I bought the package deal and love it. It does come with a pc cable, however it is serial, not usb. My new computer only has usb, so I had to buy a serial/usb adapter cable from Wal-Mart for around $20.00 which was no big deal. Everything works great, just update MapSource when you install it. +Rick618
The Target package hasn't been opened period. I'm reading the contents per the box and it lists the gpsr, a carrying case, an instructional cd, a wrist strap, and owners manual. Both the 12v and pc interface cable are listed under a list of 10 optional accesories. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
You can get a data cable for about $12.00 HERE (includes shipping). Quote Link to comment
+dougsmiley
Don't open it then. The one I got in the mail yesterday clearly states the pc cable is included. It was $119 on amazon. With an etailer, you could actually make money by returning it and buying one with a data cable. Quote Link to comment
