+RAC 'N' T-BO
Hi there. Is it possible to download the co-ordinates of a cache or multiple caches and input them into a GPS unit namely the Garmin Nuvi. I think they have got to be in .csv format(maybe!?) Any help on how to do this would be great. Tim and Rachel Quote Link to comment
+HHL
GPSBabel is your friend. it will convert .loc and .gpx files to your needs. happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear) Quote Link to comment
+Olar
Looks like the Nuvi is one of the new Garmin units designed specifically for use in your car for autorouting to any installed points-of-interest. Coordinates for geocaches are downloaded via the POI Loader program available from Garmin's site as a free download. The loader requires coordinates in a .csv file format. A search on POI Loader here in the forums will yield a few discussion threads on the subject. Olar Quote Link to comment
+RAC 'N' T-BO
Thank you. Yes I understand that the Nuvi is designed for in car navigation only. I would like to use the Nuvi to navigate me by road to the general area of the cache. Once near the cache I swap to using a geko 201 to actually locate the geocache. Perhaps I should of explained that in the first place! Tim Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
http://www.gpsbabel.org calls this the 'garmin_poi' format. It slurps right into POI loader. Quote Link to comment
