+Arrow One
I sent my first travel bug on its way yesterday. I didn't have a cache ready of my own to place, so I sent it out on it's journey in another cache. Does anyone have any interesting stories of placing their first TB? Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Nice bug you have there! My first bug is my personal TB that gets logged into every cache I visit, so that doesn't count. The first bug I released into the wilds is The Iowa Tractor I had it shipped to and released by a caching friend of mine over in the UK. Thes goal is to have it's picture taken in farming areas. It's done pretty well so far. Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
Does anyone have any interesting stories of placing their first TB? For my first, I was afraid to send out anything precious, for fear it would vanish. So I walked around the house until I clapped eyes on an old Spam key I kept in a drawer. Behold le Clef d'Hormel, still going strong. People have been very good about playing along with it (by posting their favorite junk food). As for your bug, I can't help thinking the poem would work better if you were from Delaware. In my opinion, not nearly enough people appreciate the only state in the union that rhymes with underwear. +the hermit crabs
Our very first TB was sent out for our handicapped nephew, to travel around the world in his place. The first people to pick him up took him on a great trip to Bermuda, and posted lots of wonderful pictures. It was better than we could ever have hoped for. I still love going back and re-reading their log and looking at all the pictures. Quote Link to comment
getson
my first TB was only picked up twice and has been idle for just over a month now. No replies to my emails so far so I really hope whoever has him will get back into caching soon and drop him off. They were brand new cachers when they picked him up, so hopefully they haven't given up on caching altogether. It's sad because he was a home-made bug that we were hoping to pick up ourselves at the end of his journey. Hopefully our second TB will not get held up like his brother. Quote Link to comment
Mustcache
My first TB, Fow Vay didn't get very far before disappearing. However, another one, John Wayne has made it much farther than I imagined. It is at Easter Island, off the coast of Chile! I hope it will continue around the world. Quote Link to comment
+media601
I placed my first bug on 9/11/2005. Someone picked it up two days later and, well, that's pretty much the story so far. I hope its not the end of the story. Quote Link to comment
+llordstanley
I sent my first bug out about two months ago. It was picked up within a few days, and has been held onto since. No reply to an email I sent a few weeks ago. Hopefully it will be released soon. About to release my second. Hopefully it faires better. Quote Link to comment
+thewallys
Our first TB was released a few months ago. We placed him in our first ever hidden cache. The first finder was a fireman and he took the TB to fight a fire and drive the truck, it was so cool. He posted lots of pictures, it was a real thrill for us. Quote Link to comment
