  1. We are serious about having fun, and caching is serious fun. We love to cache, that's why we do it, no other reason. We cache a lot, we like getting TBs and FTFs but it's because of the hunt and the game, not the numbers.
  2. We began caching with our Motorola i530. We found our first seven caches (including a FTF) with our cell phone. It was difficult, but not impossible. The readings were not very accurate, and it took at least an hour each time. There was no map, no compass, no go to, just the coords of where we were standing... it was a lot of work, but caching is always worth it. We were so excited the first time we went out, and we didn't really believe that anything was out there, so when we actually found the cache we were hooked for life. We realized after that first day of caching that we would need a gps, so we researched and finally bought a Magellan. However, we couldn't not go caching while gathering info and waiting on the post office, so we continued to go out with the phone. After having Magellan for a few months it is easy to see why people don't use their phones for this sport, but hey, when there's a cache at stake, you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
  3. Two things: 1. We love to look for caches that haven't been found in a while, it makes it more fun... almost as much as an FTF 2. We have two caches in a larger city that have not been hit in little a while. We have formed the theory that there may be many fair weather cachers out there, and as the rain, snow, cold, and hunters start to come the cachers stop. Of course the weather aspect many not apply in Florida, but has anyone else experienced anything of the like? Also, if it's a very good hide, we don't think people always log their DNFs.
  4. Wow! I can't believe people have actually come across these places. We joke about finding them all the time, but never actually considered the possibility a reality. It's obvious this poster had the best of intentions, but I think it's a bad idea... for so many reasons.
  5. Our first TB was released a few months ago. We placed him in our first ever hidden cache. The first finder was a fireman and he took the TB to fight a fire and drive the truck, it was so cool. He posted lots of pictures, it was a real thrill for us.
