Airmapper
I got a California wooden nickel at an event, I've logged it and am the owner. Now what, I don't really want to loose it, so can I make another object (say a woden disk) and put the tracking # on it? Are nickles as likely to get stolen as a coin? Quote Link to comment
Airmapper
30 views and no one has an opinion, maybe I should move this to another forum. Quote Link to comment
GrandpaKim
Are nickles as likely to get stolen as a coin? I don't think so, because they aren't collected like coins are right now (i.e. crazily ). Quote Link to comment
SeventhSon
Anything you send out to travel has the potential of ending up in geolimbo. Stolen, misplaced, muggled, etc. It all depends on if you want to take the chance. Quote Link to comment
Airmapper
Thanks, I'm still considering sending out a "dummy coin" with the tracking # and website address to fill in for the nickel. But if I do that I'll never really be able to release the nickel on it's own. I suppose I could do the opposite, send out the nickel, and if it goes AWOL, send out the replacement. I think I could get into this Geocoin trading/ logging, it's really getting to be a big thing. Quote Link to comment
