haven't had much luck in finding info on,when and if any events are being held in my area,

where do i look for this info..i been wanting to attend a local event.

Most of the time they are listed as event caches, and shown with the rest of them when you search. You could try your local Geocache orginization, I think there is a pinned thread in this section with links to thier websites by Max Cacher.

~You can look at this same section on the forums, Regions, and look for your state. Click on the state desired and it lists all of the upcoming events in your state.

Looks like there are 2 events coming up in NC for October: GCQJNZ and GCQJMR.

Have you joined the Fayetteville geocaching group? There was talk on this group at one time about meeting maybe once a month or every other month... maybe that might happen down the road.

From your personal page on gc.com, you should have a "newest caches in STATE NAME" link. As an example, mine reads "newest caches in Georgia." The events will be at the top of that results page in order from farthest out to soonest.
