+The Seegert Seekers
After we do a virtual cache and e-mail our findings to the owner of the cache, how long do we wait for a confirmation to log our find? What if we don't heard from the owner? Thanks! The Seegert Seekers Michigan Quote Link to comment
+Mauison
I usually log it, then send an email to the owner with the answer. Sometimes the description will say to email the answer first, wait for a confirmation from the owner that it's correct, then log it. Quote Link to comment
Apollo Bob
I always log it right after sending the email. In my log I say "email sent". If there's any problem, the cache owner can let you know and delete your log if your info was wrong for some reason. I'm usually pretty confident my confirmation is right so that's why I do it that way. If you don't hear anything from the owner you could always compare info with a previous finder of the cache if you really want to make sure. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Usually it's log, and send email. Many times you'll only hear back if there's a problem with your answers. Quote Link to comment
+badlands
I log it and then send the e-mail. Quote Link to comment
+Ambrosia
If I know that my answer is correct, I'll send the email and then log the cache. As a virtual cache owner, I do not respond to every person who emails me the answer to my virtuals. Most of the people log the cache, anyway, so they do not need my response. I try to notice if someone did not log it, though, or if they asked for confirmation in their email, and then I will contact those people specifically. I wouldn't worry, there are very few virtual cache owners that get so worked up as to be upset if you log their virtual without waiting for their go ahead. Most are probably like me, and appreciate each cacher going ahead, to avoid all the emails. Edited September 20, 2005 by Ambrosia Quote Link to comment
+tls11823
When do we log a virtual? Before they all disappear and become waymarks. Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
Good one. Unless the cache owner specifically states to only log the cache after hearing back from them that the requirement has been met, I usually send the email, then log the cache. Some owners of Virtual caches are not active anymore and you will never hear back from them . . . Quote Link to comment
