End Of Summer Hike?

Lucy and Rickie have several caches on the trail, and I noticed a new cache on the trail got approved today!

 

I'm thinking of going out late sunday morning.. say 10am. Anyone else wanna come? Maybe I can break my other arm this time!

 

I know little blue along with several others expressed an interest earlier in the summer at doing this trail.

I might be interested, altho I'm going down to Rainier area one day this weekend, whichever has better weather.

I wouldn't worry about breaking your arm RWW! It's a nice gentle hike.

 

Grossi and I did Lilm Kiln this summer. It's a lot of fun. Many interesting artifacts to see along the trail.

I was reading something about it and you can only do half of it on a bike, the rest is to be done on foot.

The trailhead is fairly easy to find:

 

To reach the Lime Kiln trailhead, follow state Route 92 east to Granite Falls. In town, turn right on South Granite Avenue. In three blocks, go left on Pioneer Street, which leaves the city and becomes Menzel Lake Road. In a few miles, go left on Waite Mill Road and go past a school bus turnaround to the signed trailhead on the left.

I need 10 caches tomorrow to hit 1300. Six are on the trail....hmm, have to find 4 more on the way up or afterward.

Looks like I might just head up this way after all. I'll see how I feel in the morning. Going to be a long drive and if I do it, it'll be in my husbands truck. Don't wait for me at the trailhead, I'll be on 6 mile FRS radio CH 2.

Ok, I don't know who all is coming, but..

 

The plan is to meet at the trailhead at 10:00am sunday. I would recommend bringing water and a lunch. It's not a long hike but not a real short one either.

We did! I got there a bit late, and tracked RWW and Seth! for about an hour before catching up to them at the lime kiln. Nice day to be out, and we got a FTF on a new cache near the kiln. Lots of interesting artifacts, and we had lunch by the river.
