I think the guy with over 45,000 finds is not just caching on his own. He probably has a bunch of people caching and they are all using that one account. If not... thats just insane

While Alamogul often goes caching with others (so technically, he is not just caching "on his own"), he is just one person and he doesn't log anyone else's finds on his account. I've never gone geocaching with him, but I know people who have. A routine day for him is often the most caches his companions have ever found in a day. Several people have mentioned to me that keeping up with him can be a challenge.

 

And FWIW, his 50k celebration was only a few months ago, and he's already approaching 55k. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if he hits 55k by the end of the long weekend.

 

Some people can spend a LOT of time geocaching...

I heard about four guys caching for 24 hours with no break. they found 568. don't know if it's true or not. Doubt it.
