D_Skids
Hi. I have found a couple of locations that would be great to hide a couple of micro caches in the form of camera film containers (the places I have in mind do not have anywhere suitable for bigger caches.) What I was thinking of doing was posting the location to the first micro cache and then in that microcache I would put co-ordinets to the next one (A multi cache I suppose) What I would like to know though is what is the best way to get people to log their finds because the containers would be too small for a log book? One idea I had would be to ask the person that find the second cache to have a photo taken of/with it but without giving away any clues to the location. What are your thoughts on this please or do you have any other suggestions I could try. Many Thanks Darren (D_Skids) Quote Link to comment
-Phoenix-
use a micro cache log book, there are plenty downloadable from various places on the net. Quote Link to comment
Snosrap
Find a few of the type you plan to set and see how others have solved the same problem. Quote Link to comment
D_Skids
Thanks for the info but unfortunately even the micro cache log books are too big. Also there are no microcaches near to me to see how they have done it. Quote Link to comment
-Phoenix-
A micro cache log book does fit inside a 35mm film canister, they are specifically designed to. And Ive seen them in containers smaller than 35mm. It would really be best for all if you took the time to find a cache similar to what you are planning and see how its done. +-Phoenix-
The following are micros in your area and there are about 6 more within a 20 mile radius Abingdon Park M! drive by series Ousing at Oakley Cattle creep Quote Link to comment
Nediam
Thanks for the info but unfortunately even the micro cache log books are too big. Also there are no microcaches near to me to see how they have done it. You don't have to use an official "logbook" you could create one on Excel or Word etc and print it out. I've got one in my micro cache (much smaller than a 35mm canister). I could send you a copy if you want, but I have seen better ones in other peoples caches. I'm sure there's a link somewhere to one (someone will probably let you know). Quote Link to comment
Happy Humphrey
All good advice. I've logged caches where the whole thing will fit inside a 35mm film canister -twice-, and there's a log book inside. In fact, I have one smaller than a film canister and it still has a pencil included! There's no rush to set yours up, so why not have a look at a few other microcaches and see how it's done (or, perhaps, not done...). HH Quote Link to comment
McDeHack
The 'logs' in the film canister caches are basicly strips of paper 30mm wide with space for just date and name of finder. 3 or 4 of these will fit into the canister. Plus there is a micro cache stash sheet that will also fit in the canister. They can be downloaded from GCUK ( I think). Quote Link to comment

D_Skids
Thanks for all the useful advice guys I didn't realise Abington Park was a micro cache! I was planning to drop a TB off there as well in the next few days. Quote Link to comment
Learned Gerbil
I have adopted a series of caches which are small breath mint containers that are about 30mmx20mmx5mm - they have logs in them. It is all a question of imagination about how you fold or roll something to get it in. Quote Link to comment
