+bicknell
What's the best way to get USGS quads for a large area? I can download images in things like USA Photo Maps, but I'd like to have print outs of the areas we are going to be searching. Is the USGS the best place, or is it better to shell out a few bucks to at Boarders for them made up in a book by someone? Quote Link to comment
+Black Dog Trackers
bicknell - I guess you're referring to these? The Virginia book's maps are 1:150,000 scale according to that website. Quote Link to comment
+ddnutzy
I have a Maptech program that covers all of N.E. The Va. program has over 800 quads for $99.00. You can print any of the areas that you want with no problem. It has all the detail that you need on a search. These are the same maps that we use on searches for lost people. Quote Link to comment
Difficult Run
Normally, I print out a copy of the Topozone map (USGS), and scale it to whatever meets my needs. However, there is a website where you can download almost all the USGS maps for the East Coast in a TIFF format. Downloads are free. Libre Map Project - Mitch - Quote Link to comment
