Meridian Won't Connect

I have used my Magellan Meridian serial cable to load waypoints with no problem. I tried to load some for a day trip last weekend and nothing loaded. I tried yesterday on two different computers and I kept getting an error. I ohmed out the cable and it is good and I used the serial port to load the information to my PDA so the port is good. That narrows it down to the GPS. Any ideas on what my problem is?

Are you sure the port setting in the software is set correctly. I use both a Palm and GSAK and one day, even though the Palm still worked fine, GSAK would time out with an error when sending waypoints to the GPSr. I checked the GPSr settings, and something had set it back to the default of com3. I set it back to com1 and all was fine.

You might try disabling your PDA synching software. It may be competing for the port.

What Embra said, I also have found dirty connections on mine a couple of times. Just something else to think about

I will check the GPS setting and disable the PDA software tonight and see what happens. I checked the cable connections and they are clean. I also checked (ohmed) the cable and it is fine. So it has to be the GPS...thanks for the suggestion.

How did we ever survive before forums??? I went home and closed the PDA software. Brought up GSAK and was able to download the waypoints to the GPS without a problem. Thanks for the needed help.
