+Clyde.
Just seen this on BBC local news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/4548591.stm And check out this cache using the waypoint : GCMEVW Were they out caching or is it a pure coincidence ? If they were out caching, did they give it away ? Quote Link to comment
+-Phoenix-
hm, if they were looking for that cache then they must have parked at Mostyn, its one of the least Muddy caches on the Wirral Quote Link to comment
+mongoose39uk
Having done this cache, I would think you would have great difficulty finding any mud near the cache Quote Link to comment
+Pengy&Tigger
No, it can't be that cache, unless they put the co-ords in wrong. That sounds like what happens to me while caching though. I've learned by now that stepping stones and planks of wood are not a good way for me to cross rivers or bogs. P&T Edited May 15, 2005 by Pengy&Tigger Quote Link to comment
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders
Saw this on the TV and if you park in the correct place (as requested by James W) you should walk past the restaurant on the way to the cache. Quote Link to comment
Team 'James W'
Wow, missed this on the telly. Maybe they parked near Sheldrakes and tried to head directly for Rusty Duke! The above is correct, you don't go near the muddy estuary for mine although the beach can get a bit soggy in places, or if you're really unlucky you'll step in some horse poo. Some people do occasionally venture out when they really shouldn't.. A lot are trying to walk out to Hilbre Island incorrectly (there is only one 'safe' way to get there apparently). We also had some problems several years ago when the news reported that an old document had been uncovered describing a very specific route that you could use to walk from Heswall/Parkgate to Wales when the tide was low. The story was never confirmed but it didn't stop some people having a go! Incidently, there are still stories around of tunnels leading from Hilbre Island to West Kirby under the sand that have never been confirmed. Apparently they were built by monks circa 1000AD. +HazelS
Yes... Sheldrakes is just down from my mum and Dad's house... we've been down there many a day when caching with newbies... It can get muddy and marshy there!! Quote Link to comment
+derrylynne
Think I will leave that cache out. Seems a mite too muddy for me. Heck, thigh boots would not be enough, and as Lynne is only 4'10 does not bare thinking about..... Quote Link to comment
