+panhandlephillips
Has anyone else with a Garmin Legend noticed that the pointer is slow to update to the direction of the waypoint. Here is what I have noticed while geocaching. Looking and the distance field, when I walk over or past the waypoint location the distance indicator changes as it should, within a reasonable amount of time. (Decreasing as I approach the cache, increasing as I pass it) However it takes several seconds (30-60) for the pointer to reverse direction. I have noticed this in both battery saver and normal mode. The GPS accuracy does not seem to play a role either. I am running V3.7 of the software, the latest version. Quote Link to comment
+Gas Guys
I'm currently using a borrowed Vista, and I've noticed that pointer problem once or twice during the last week. It doesn't happen all of the time, and it seems to be due to a lack of good sat. lock. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
It may also be a function of your speed. The legend doesn't have a compass, so the pointer is basing its arrow on your change of position. When you slow down to less than about 3 mph (as most people do when approaching a cache), it gets very unreliable. If terrain permits, try moving 50 feet or so from the cache and approach at a brisk walk. Then move around the cache area 90 degrees or so and try the same thing. Quote Link to comment
